Jito (male, born approx March 1, 2013)
Jito came to us from CEBIAM (the pound in Playa Del Carmen) after spending quite some time there. Upon arrival, he tested positive for erlichia and anaplasma which he has been treated for and is fully recovered.
Jito was very happy to join us at PAR where he could begin to interact with people. He has alot of energy and loves to walk and play. He still needs guidance with and practice meeting new dogs politely but is still able to make friends too.
Overall, he’s a very happy dog and loves people.

Zazil (approx DOB – Jan. 2015) – Arrival at shelter May 26, 2015.
Zazil is named after a Mayan Princess. When she came to us, she was not looking so royal. She had severe skin issues and almost no hair. Her poor skin was so irritated and painful and itchy! She is doing much better now, and looks like a little tiny long haired Rottweiler. She is a high energy puppy, but she is still in quarantine, once she gets out with the other puppies, she will have a chance to run all that energy off and we will see her true personality. She is very loving and affectionate and loves attention when she can stand still long enough to get it! If you are looking for a dog who can keep up with you, Zazil is your girl. Continue reading
Adopted by her rescuers!
Vivie (approx DOB – March 2015) – Arrival at shelter April 24, 2015.
Vivie was rescued by tourists who noticed her running down the road in a remote area of jungle. She was so tiny, there was no way she would have survived on her own. Her name is short for sobreviviente, it means survivor in Spanish. Vivie had medical issues when she got to us, but she is all well now. She is snuggly and outgoing and playful. Vivie has been chosen for adoption and will be leaving us soon.
Skye (approx DOB – May 2014) – Arrival at shelter May 18, 2015.
Our caretaker saw Skye with her family on his way into the shelter. They were beating her. When he stopped to ask them why, they told him they no longer wanted her. Carlos took Skye with him, and now she is ours. She is a beautiful little girl. Once she knows you don’t plan to hurt her, she is a lap crawling cuddle bug! She grins when you come to visit her. She has forgiven humans for treating her badly, and now she wants a family of her very own. Skye will be ready for adoption soon.
Sherry (approx DOB – Nov. 2013) – Arrival at shelter Oct. 11, 2014.
Sherry was rescued from the Perarra, the local dog catcher. She is an active girl who loves strutting her stuff. She is confident and playful and gets along well with other dogs. She has never met a person she doesn’t like. Sherry would enjoy an active lifestyle, so all you walkers, bikers, joggers take note, she would be perfect for you! Are you ready to add a new best friend to your life?
